Established in 2007 under Bintulu Port Authority Act 1981. From the expansion of the functions of the Bintulu Port Authority, the Labuan Port Authority plays a similar role. Development, administration, marketing and port service providers are the main scope of the Labuan Port Authority. This is to ensure that the Port of Labuan functions as an efficient and effective gateway for merchant ships in line with the declaration of Labuan as an International Offshore Financial Center on 1 October 1990.
